I don’t want to be in the US

It sucks

Parents
  • I'm sorry, from the news it seems very polarised there at the moment. Is it difficult day-to-day?

  • So the thing is, most of the insanity you see in the news does not affect the average American UNLESS they are marginalized. Ex. Somali immigrants in Minnesota are being horribly treated right now. My family is white and has been citizens for generations, so they take the benefit of the doubt because they don’t see how miserable it is having a different racial/cultural background in the States right now. Even people who are naturalized citizens of America are afraid to go outside in certain cities because of the color of their skin.

It’s not particularly difficult being Autistic (yet!), but the hard thing is that there is so much misinformation about us that you have to be careful who you disclose your disability to.
