Making friends over 40

Have you tried Meet Up? There are online meetings including for autistic or introverted people, not sure if it’s my cup of tea but perhaps it’s something for you?

You say you cannot go out - does that include for things you like doing by yourself (if there are such things, going for a walk perhaps?). I met some people by joining a swim group (something I like to do anyway) and via Reddit in the neighbourhood, we started a book club (another thing I like to do anyway). Next idea is to join an acting class.. All of these things are primarily about an activity, and because of that they are time bound (2h is my sweet spot, after that I need to withdraw), giving it a predictable frame. So suggestion is to do what you would like to do *anyway*, and perhaps something that is time frames. That assumes you can/ want to go outside for things you like doing. Otherwise, I’d start with using Meet Up.
