Overwhelmed post diagnosis

I had my assessment three weeks ago, post assessment I felt relieved and happy to have an explanation and the confirmation of what I felt like I always knew. However ever since that first day my emotions have changed massively, like I feel very agitated and upset. Alot of it seems to stem from having an answer at 29 years old, reflecting on the past a lot and not really knowing what my next steps are now I have the diagnosis.

Did anyone have a similar experience post diagnoses and do you have any tips for me?

  • Hello! And congrats on your diagnosis! After mine I got very very sad! I wrote here to the community and the members managed to relax me with their words. It is under the topic ‘sadness after diagnosis’ it was like a 1,5 month ago. I felt seen here and understood. Some days passed with that huge sadness and after I concentrated of readings about ASD and on my joys also. All the best for you!!! ButterflyButterflyButterfly
