ADOS Scores

So I just had a confirmation call for my asd assessment (it was a yes but he had said that last time so as not to contribute to my anxiety), and he let me know what I'd scored on the ADOS, which was rather significant.

Is there a good understanding of the scoring system anywhere, or is that more clinical? Just trying to get a handle on what it means.

  • I had my diagnosis last December, but I wasn’t given a score.

I can’t say if knowing a score would have helped me or not. The medical report that followed some weeks after diagnosis was very useful to me because it detailed my strengths and limitations, and illustrated how I get round some of the challenges, so I’m happy enough with that. Having an explanation why I struggle in some areas of daily life was the most helpful thing for me.
