I love school holidays with my son. And so does he. No stressful mornings trying to get him into school. Low demands and no pressure. Can anyone relate?

I could not wait for the school holidays when I was a child, as it meant that I could forget all about school... Well, at least until approximately half-way through the school holidays when the anxiety and dread of returning to school would start to intensify.
When my (now adult) son was at school, I loved school holidays because it meant there wasn't the stress of trying to fit in and make small talk with the other parents at the school gates, or the stress of busting a gut to ensure I got him to school on time, or the stress (when he was older) of worrying whether I would get a call from the school's attendance officer demanding to know why he wasn't in school (because he'd bunked off). I loved his school holidays because it meant that I could spend more time with him.
Now that my son is grown up, neither of us seems to enjoy school holidays. Neither of us can be doing with the sound of children screaming and shrieking when they're playing outdoors during school holidays. Also, there is no such thing as going shopping at a quieter time of the day during school holidays.
