It was trauma, lol.

So. Turns out it wasSparklestraumaSparkles. Any other takers (I’m kidding, a little bit)?

This utter dumpster fire of spiraling, depression, anxiety, and dysfunction, are due to medical trauma I experienced two years ago at a treatment center I really didn’t need to go to. Turns out being forced to interrogate and strip away your deep psyche in front of a room full of judgemental strangers every day for 3 months is not in fact something the human mind was meant to withstand. Big whoop. Anyways I’m about done with the medical system now. No more tests, no more treatments, just me and my trustworthy shrink, and, like, my eye doctor and dentist and ***.
im so done, so drained, and finally at peace with the idea that goddamnit these past few years weren’t my fault, and I really need to do a deep dive investigative study into how harmful the American psychiatric business really is. Burn the institution, raaaaah. You see a random slew of op-eds about the exploitative mental health institutions, bet your money it’s me.

So, long time no talk, missed yall, but my spirit animal for the past few months has been my cat trying to charm her way out of a veterinary exam by pissing all over everything.

 anybody else have similar experiences?

Gaaaaaaaah

love, smiles, cookies, whatever.

  • I too am pleased for you too

Notwithstanding that people who need help should seek out / be identified as needing help and get the right help for them and society...

If you go to a barber/hairdresser be prepared for them to offer you a haircut (whether you need one or not) I guess?

Yep, similar experience.... - I work in a health care profession that can keep people away from a lot of other health care professions.

In my case it involves the patient doing sometimes hard work and not (immediately at least) getting paid for it.

Alternatively there are others that get paid for doing an alternative service (and then they regularly get sent to me anyway....)

    Nuff said.

Best Wishes and love and stuff back!

  • I'm pleased you know what the issue is/was and are making progress.

I suppose your system is just arrogant, does what suits it and meets it's goals. You're just supposed to say thank you and pay.

  • Yeah cats do that, when we did get him to the vets, my old Bertie cat used to purr really loudly so they couldn't hear a thing when they went to listen to his heart and lungs, lol.

SOunds like you've had a thoroughly traumatic experience, I can't speak for the American system, but I've avoided group therapy, I'm autistic I dont' do groups, why do NT's not understand this, it's not like its difficult?

Why were they so harsh and judgemental? That seems a very strange way of conducting therapy, unless it was some hitherto unknown form of aversion therapy, get better or else!
