Going away for a weekend

Hello I am going away to a caravan park from this coming Friday to the Monday and I am wondering if there's any advice on how to reduce my anxiety around going. Its largely due to the change in routine and because I quite worry about sleeping and sleeping away from home is always harder. I am with my parents and my brother fyi. Any advice?

I find it helps a lot to change the way I think about it, so rather than seeing it as there will be problems with my routine changing, risks of bad sleep etc, I will try to turn the things causing this into a positive.

I try to think it will be fun, there will be new things to see and do, exciting experiences ahead and while some may have some negatives (eg sleep will be impacted) the balance will overall be fun.

The whole process of thinking positively about it actually helps you have fun I find. If you worry then you are already in a negative mindset and this drags it down for you and those around you so mask a bit to get things going and try to enjoy the rollercoaster ride of the holiday.

I realise that being with your family can be a drag so see if you can get away to do some stuff on your own if you get a chance.

The experiences, both good and bad, build character and give you a richer life in the end.
