Looking for friends as someone who is going through the assessment process

hey everyone, i am 28F and recently i was referred to a therapist who has referred me for an autism assessment, originally i was in therapy for bipolar/bpd but my therapist is certain its autism (although she cannot diagnose) which makes a lot of sense because ive always had a suspicion i was autistic. anyway, i have always struggled to make friends, i have a very healthy and stable relationship and adore spending time with him but i miss having friends. i have always found it easier to have friends online than in person. Sorry, i feel like im rambling here but needed to get my thoughts down haha.

i am into

  • crafting (i would say this is my safe place and special interest)
  • gaming (i mainly play switch and sometimes xbox)
  • reading

anyway sorry if i rambled Slight smile

  • Good morning from America Amelia!

I’m also an avid Switch gamer, as is  . Any games in particular you have been interested in?

Yeah, I understand finding it easier to have friends online than in person. My closest friends are spread all over America in different states, so my relationship with them is primarily online.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your assessment!

  • Hello! My main games ive been playing on switch recently are animal crossing, pokemon violet and Kirby :) on xbox i usually play skate, i used to play a lot of cod zombies but i found it overwhelming a lot of the time, what games do you play? Slight smile and thankyou! very nervous for the assessment but my therapist has been helping me prepare:)

  • Pokémon Violet is fantastic. I play that a lot, and I’m currently working through Scarlet with my daughters.

My main game is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but I also dabble with Fire Emblem, Hitman (which barely plays on Switch lol), Skyrim, and the Zelda games.

I still haven’t invested in the Switch 2 yet, but I hope to someday.

  • I'll definitely check it out. i would say thats my favourite style (not sure if thats the right word) of gaming Slight smile

  • Totally get what you are saying about Violet. I spent a ridiculous amount of time just riding Miraidon around the roads on the west side. I haven’t heard of Shin Miraidon/Koraidon!

Breath of the Wild is really fun! You’ll especially like it if you enjoy the open world feel of Violet. If you play it, take your time; There’s no rush to dive into the later game. You start out on a sort of “tutorial island,” but you can take as long as you wish to complete it.

  • I definitely recommend the switch 2 if you get the chance to get one. I love playing pokemon violet because its thrilling yet calming all at the same time. i noticed they're bringing out a shin miraidon and koraidon soon but as im in the uk theres been no mention of release here yet which sucks. i havent played zelda in a really long time as i used the play the DS ones, my favourite is Zelda and the minish cap on gameboy, my partner and i recently got the switch 2 version of breath of the wild so maybe ill give that a go.
