Confrontation

So today I had abit of a horrible experience in which someone was really rude to me. I have had to change working shifts due to what worked best with the family and this person was very rude as she was unhappy I was changing. I tried to explain why I had to change however she was really unpleasant. I am not very good with confrontation and froze. I felt so upset but waited until I got into my car before actually crying. I still feel upset hours later and my mind is full of "i should of said this" etc.

Does anyone else find confrontation so uncomfortable? I know no one enjoys it but everyone around me seems to find it so much easier to deal with. I have reached out to my boss who has been so supportive. I just know I will be thinking about this interaction all weekend now.

Thanks in advance

You might also have a little touch of rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD), where your brain can amplify painful emotions if you perceive rejection, criticism or failure. I get that a lot. I've taken to telling myself in the moment that my brain is over-reacting, don't do anything rash, I'll feel a bit better in an hour, and it will blow over in a few days.
