Is listening to the same songs again and again, more common in autistic people?

Probably all people do this, but I just wonder whether there is some known difference, and how it is for you.

Do you think you listen to the same songs more times than other people?

  • I've always done this! I can literally listen to the same song all day long, sometimes for days on end and I never get bored of the song.

At school I used to have my hair down so I could have my headphones in my ears (hidden because school didn't approve for some reason) so I could listen to the same stuff all day.

It was fun and it kept me calm and relaxed.

  • Hi

Yeah I often wonder what life would be like without music and it's a scary thought.

I think the calm and relaxed thing is so relevant. I have a 25 year old son and he used to study with his headphones on. I used to wonder how he did it. But now with my recent diagnosis I understand how much it helps.
