Is listening to the same songs again and again, more common in autistic people?

Probably all people do this, but I just wonder whether there is some known difference, and how it is for you.

Do you think you listen to the same songs more times than other people?

  • Yes definitely.

I think its a one practical outworking of hyper-fixation. Its kind of sweet, but also at the same time a curse, how we seem to get so much enjoyment out of media in general - TV shows, movies as well as music. I think the baseline level of getting the same enjoyment for neurotypicals is lower

When I first heard Roger Sanchez - Another Chance, that's the most times I've ever listened to song in a row. I listened to it 35 times in one day! Problem is that I'll now never like that song ever again because I've got too used to it.

  • That was me with overkill by Colin hay

and it’s me with most Taylor swift songs i listen to her more than anyone else she’s so amazing
