Does putting transcripts through AI aid learning?

I had a text based interaction with someone which went a bit strangely. I decided to ask AI, Gemini and Copilot, what they thought for another perspective.

I asked if it could analyse a conversation and then put the whole lot in unedited. I gave it no directions.

I think it can be a useful tool to aid learning. It can highlight points where misunderstanding happened. I'd not use it to apportion blame, just to see where errors occur.

It highlighted the issue of online text communication going wrong, where you miss social cues and context. Words can be misunderstood, through bias, accident or intention. AI could do the same but it should give the most likely normal interpretation. A transcript of a face to face interaction put through ai may be less reliable though as it misses some data.

It was interesting and confirmed my thoughts, it was not me in this case. My instincts were correct. Since ASD has communication issues I am trying to see where my issues lie. I can't control other people. A more significant interaction earlier in the day had also gone fine.

  • the one where I observed the highest percentage of adult students genuinely struggling with taking onboard a new concept - was the one which made reference to confirmation bias.

I think that is because if "feels" so right to have something agree with what you think - it is validating, empowering and gives a dopamine response like many addictive substances.

To be willing to look at things which prove you wrong and consider them on face value takes courage that many people just cannot be bothered to muster.

It feels like a very human failing. Maybe Skynet would be right to replace us with something more logical LOL.
