Diagnosis and questions

Hello all that are curious,

So I've taken the online assessments and have it has indicated that I am more than likely on the spectrum. But I'm almost 40 if I get officially diagnosed I don't know what that would change. I need help understanding.

Thank you.

  • Unless you need it to assess support needs to get benefits or help, it won't change anything practical unless you change something

If you don't need external validation and are happy with self diagnosis because you are sure, then it will not add much.

If you need to know, to avoid imposter syndrome, then it helps.

Change will generally come from you, in terms of accommodations you make and being kinder to yourself,.

If you have already made all your changes, don't need anything, have no doubts and have already read everything then don't bother.

  • Nothing truly can predict how your life may change afterwards. That depends on your own personal circumstances. Reading others experiences on this forum may shed light or make the outcome more predictable for you.
