Computerised medical records are always fun. Apparently I suffer from a condition known as "Ref cons upload to nat ele rec". I do wonder how common that is.
Also, "pain in neck" :D.
I was intrigued when I first got a copy of my medical records back in 2010. They sent me computer printouts of the more recent records, but the historical ones were all handwritten. I always assumed that they gave doctors computers because they can't write. It turns out they can't type either.
If it bothers you, I’d suggest just reading “Episode” as meaning “Diagnosis”.
Medical professionals who see it will, of course, know that autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition, not an episodic one.
If the preset coding label just makes you chuckle, then I completely understand and found it funny, too. I’d have preferred “Ongoing Saga”, myself!
Maybe they mean it is new in that you haven't been to the GP with this in the past.
Maybe each time you have a treatable side effect, like anxiety or depression, they will treat it as a new episode of treatment.
It's probably some standard classification thing.
