Can anyone shed anymore light on this please

Based on the clinical presentation during the assessment and the information in the pre-assessment questionnaires, it is my opinion that ** fulfils the DSM-5 criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder. The difficulties have been longstanding, starting in childhood, impactingvarious areas of their life and they cannot be explained by a Learning Disability or Global Developmental Delay.

Sorry I took that a bit literally. 

It also means they are not considering how you appeared outside the assesment. 

This is word for word at the beginning of my report 

Based on the information from the diagnostic methods, and our clinical observations, we conclude that ***** does fulfill the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder ASD. This is because he presents with longstanding difficulties in social communication, limited eye contact and challenges with reciprocal interaction. He shows ridged routines, intense interests, sensory sensitivities and a history of masking and emotional distress, all consistent with ASD.

Thank you, that helps clear it up somewhat. That’s a better explanation of the comment made, it wasn’t really explained to me exactly what it meant but I am guessing it’s also written in medical terminology for other health care professionals. 

It means the comments that follow are based upon how you appeared during your formal assessment meeting.

Presentation means how you appeared to them on that day. It covers how you looked, acted, what you said and how you said it.

The clinical bit means they were only looking for official things, so for things that were consistent with the DSM-5 or ICD-11 diagnostic criteria.

So you could have lots of non-clinical behaviours but they would not be a part of the assessment.

This is my post assessment report. I mean it was some time ago (earlier this year) and I have googled it but others here may have a better way of understanding it. 

I will have a look at my report and see if there is something similar. Is this in your pre assessment questionnaires or in your report post assessment?
