Text msgs and emails

Does anyone else write a msg or email to someone send it and then obsess wheather what you have written in it makes sense? I do this and then I'm fixated on going back to the msg over and over not being able to work it out or not as it just looks like words.Sorry if this sounds weird I'm just wondering if this is a typical autistic thing?

  • I used to reread them and wonder while waiting for a response if there were other ways to interpret what I had written. I am old enough to have wondered the same about letters I had written.

Of course if I got a response which was unexpected I would then analyse why the response was different. I applied this to post processing verbal communications too.

It fades with time to a certain extent. I think this is because you get more confident as more things go as expected as you get more skilled.

  • Thanks for the reply Stuart yes I do that too regarding different ways it could be interpreted. It probably is an autistic thing.its ridiculous I know but it causes me so much anxiety
