Changes to Rule 4 Moderation Actions

Dear Online Community users,

We would like to thank you for the feedback that we have received from you about our Online Community rules and guidelines. We are always grateful for our Online Community members input and suggestions on how we can improve our Online Community.

After acknowledging this feedback, The Moderation Team has made changes to the moderation actions on rule 4 of our Online Community rules:

Rule 4: No harmful or offensive content. Do not post or link to anything that is: graphic or obscene, defamatory or libellous, impersonating someone else, infringing copyright.

Moderation action: Content viewed to be in breach of this rule will be removed or edited. It may be edited or removed by the moderation team, but wherever possible, we’ll ask the author to make the changes themselves first. Continued breaches, even after warnings or support from moderators, may result in a temporary or permanent ban. Serious violations may result in an immediate ban without notice.

This means that moving forward, in situations where a post may breach the rules but doesn’t pose a risk of harm to the user or others in the community, moderators will contact the poster privately first, before taking further action.

We highly value the Online Community and it would not be such an amazing resource for autistic people and their families without all of you. Please do email us on communitymanager@nas.org.uk if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns. We are keen to listen and improve.

Kind Regards,

The Moderation Team
