Trying to be more positive

I've spent a lifetime of being stuck in negativity, toxicity and internalising self blame and emotional pain.  Moving forward I want to work on my self imposed limits and be more of a positive person, to swim against the current more so to speak and cultivate more fulfillment and happiness.

As The Fool I wrote a lot of depressing and worrying things.  To all who were upset reading my stories I'm sorry.  From now on I want to not push people away so much and not resent or deny my autism to the point of making myself sick.

  • Sounds like a good plan, mainly the fact that you're going to be kinder to yourself and more positive, that's extremely important.

Don't worry about past posts, it's good you felt you could be honest, even when you're feeling down, it's probably the most important time to express how you feel, hopefully venting it helped

I'm pretty negative, I tend to look for cracks in everything and then obsessed about them. Positivity to me at times seems crazy, but we should all definitely try and embrace it.

I have no idea how we find a way to ignore our doubts and see the positives more, but it sounds like a good goal!

  • One idea of mine was to envision where I would like to go if I were able to leave the UK and make a new life elsewhere, or choose where to go for a holiday at least.

I'm also obsessive and see the absolute worst in everything so I actively avoid anything triggering like news and limiting the time I spend in public places.

It's easy to lament and curse the downsides of any kind of autism but we often don't discuss how it can be useful in keeping us safe, helping to solve problems and notice things neurotypicals might overlook.
