So What’s Everyone Doing Over Easter?

My wife and I are travelling down to Cornwall tomorrow at 4am, I’ve got two weeks off work so can get the heating replaced and ceilings removed in our future home. We are about 7 miles inland from a major seaside town, most probably won’t go into town as it will be too peopley.
My son is coming down for the first week to help me. Hopefully will have some downtime to go and explore the quieter areas.

  • I live in Cornwall! It’s lovely this time of year, IF it’s not raining… big if. Yeah avoid the inner populated areas, especially this weekend. It’s busy already this week alone.

This weekend my older sister is coming over to see us. She promised me she will watch The Jungle Book with me! So I have that to look forward to. Also this weekends second big thing is I also want to try and follow a tutorial online to try and do my hair in the early Dusty Springfield beehive style! *squeals excitedly* I’m a big Dusty fan thanks to my Gran playing records over and over when I was super little. My hair is average atm so I’m going to try and perfect this style this weekend –my sister is helping me too.

I hope you and your wife enjoy your time in Cornwall this weekend and that the weather won’t be too bad.

  • The locals apparently call the mist / drizzle, mizzle . I’m a big ’Dusty’ fan. I’m trying not to go into ‘anorak’ mode, her real name was Mary O’Brien. Good luck with the beehive!

  • My favourite is Son of a preacher man, Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds was based on Dusty. I loved her work with The Pet Shop Boys. She in the end found animals to be kinder than humans and unfortunately had a lot of demons to deal with. Have you listened to any of her early work with The Springfields?

  • I love that so many singers come up with a stage name. Dusty Springfield is a beautiful name, it matched her nicely.

I think she lived a really interesting life, I love her comeback music like In Private what she did with the Pet Shop Boys. She had such a unique voice and a great ear for music, did you know when she recorded You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me she did it in the recording studios stairwell??? She said it was the only place the acoustics suited her and wasn’t happy with it until after 47 takes!

She was so awesome. Pretty too, I would love to look like she did.

I wish I had been alive then, I would have totally braved the anxiety and gone to see her in concert.

    Whoops that was long...Sorry.

    Good luck with the beehive!

    Thanks! Smiley
