Inside Science sounds fascinating. I saw a bit about the new data on the news and I will have a listen to the podcast.
I tend to prefer silence when out and about, working at home or sitting in the garden, but I do listen to any of the programmes on Classic FM, except “Music from the Movies”.
I also listen to “The Rest is Politics” podcast which features Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell, on the centre left and centre right of the political divide. Rory and Alastair agree to disagree agreeably, which is rather refreshing in our political climate, and something I whole heartedly embrace, even if I don’t always achieve it (I do try!). They often talk in depth, and sometimes disagree, on a particular aspect of politics, and It would be educational for anyone wanting to enter or learn more about politics, no matter their political affinity.
I have enjoyed podcasts on history, Classics, canine behaviour, and religion over the last two years or so (I can’t remember the titles), and I will continue to listen when I have the inclination and time.
“The Rest is Politics”
When driving home on a long journey from somewhere; I sometimes select Classic FM - although I will rapidly change channel if it is rather too "film music", or reminds me of "musical theatre".
I haven't heard many editions of the podcast with Rory and Alastair (although I have found interesting those episodes which I did hear).
(I have also read one of Rory Stewart's books: "The Places In Between" in which Rory gives an account of his experiences when he walked, solo, across north-central Afghanistan in 2002. It was clearly a tough, yet insightful journey. I am glad to have read that work by Rory. Indeed, it has made it onto my bookshelf designated "read again someday").
You are well read! I too read “The Placed In Between”. I would have loved to have done something like that when I was younger, but it would have been even more dangerous for a woman then, and now out of the question. Sadly, women are the forgotten voices in that part of the world.
