Preparing before going out

Hi. I noticed I prepare before I go out whether it's by foot or car. If I'm going far I look at maps, check google maps, make sure I have a first aid kit, spare food and drinks, spare phone charger... I like to always be prepared whenever I know I'm going somewhere. In my car I have spares and supply kits. I don't drive much but when I do, I like to try to be as prepared as possible. I suffer from anxiety and preparing early on makes things easier for me. I was the same at school, always prepared for the day ahead. If I can't prepare or the plan changes from what I intended I get super stressed and have a meltdown.

Is it just me like this or is this an autism related thing?

  • My Nan was similar, I don't think she was ASC though, but she always had plasters, asprin, indigestion tablets and whatever the equivalent of immodium was back then, spare hankerchiefs and that was just what was in her normal handbag, if going away for a day, you could add a needle and thread, half a dozen clothes pegs and a long piece of string and I don't know what else, but it filled up a shopping bag!
