What are everyone’s plans for Christmas?

Hi with only 5 more sleeps til Christmas what will everyone be doing? Me well it’s going to be hard this year as it will be my first Christmas without any of my parents. As some of you know my mum passed sway a few years ago and my dad is staying in Scotland with his partner Sheila this year. So my friend Rikki is coming over for the day and we will cook Christmas dinner together and just spend the day together. I have bought some nice treats for my dog and she will also have a nice Christmas dinner with us. I’ve got Rikki a really nice present and hopefully I will have a nice day and I hope my dad enjoys his first Christmas with Sheila. I just wish my mum could come just for the day as she loved Christmas but at least she be watching over me.
so over to you guys now what are your plans?

  • Living here in the U.K., I will be spending Christmas quietly and alone, as I don’t go in for all of the over-commercialism and drink-fuelled parties, which is not the point of Christmas anyway, as to me, being a traditional Catholic, it is the season of Christ’s Birth and nothing else - I will be either attending a traditional Mass in Latin here in the U.K. or connecting via webcam to my home parish in Ireland, connecting via Zoom and other related online platforms with family in Ireland, as travelling to Ireland at this time of year is virtually impossible, especially in the years since Covid, in my 24 years living in the U.K. - I’ve worked in supermarket retailing for 30 years and I’ve become used to not doing last minute travelling and not getting home for Christmas, except for one year, which was a total disaster
