List of what is currently wrong with the forum

I was wondering if most people who contribute here are fine with no current problems, so I thought a list might be useful.

I'm rather despairing at the moment of its brokenness and absence of communication from NAS about a timescale (or anything) for sorting these.

It's making me wonder whether to bother any longer.

1. I know that   has a message coming up in orange at the top saying his account may/will be deleted.

2. I keep being logged out (orange banner at the top with a seconds countdown).

Is anyone else getting anything still (or even unable to use their original account?).

Has anything been sorted?

    I asked the community manager if they could advise what triggers the spam filter and just got a reply.

    They are not sure why the spam filter flags certain posts. They say that from other reports, it could happen if you add links, copy & paste large quantities of text or edit the content more than once.

    They did also apologise again that my posts went into moderation, and thanked me for my patience.

    What I'm really really struggling with here is twofold:

    1.  Is anyone taking ownership of this massive problem and trying to effect changes?

    2.  Either way, will someone who is responsible for the running of the forum (?the 'community manager') take the step to communicate with us (publicly, here on the forum) what the prognosis is for the disease that is now killing the forum?

    At least then people would know where they stand - it's bizarre that we are expected to suffer these problems with the added burden of a total lack of knowledge about what is, if anything, being done to remedy it.

    Members need to know whether to leave.

    I will almost certainly complain directly to NAS (who may know nothing about the problems here) but right now my spoons are low.

    I meant to write the letter. I wasn't necessarily thinking of you, whoever might be happy to do it really. There might be someone other than me too who might be willing to draft a letter. 

    If it's all set down in the contract, then surely a letter including all the things people are complaining about could still be mentioned.

    I did get the impression that certain other members were suggesting they would be happy to set up an alternative forum in line with NAS, but this is such a ló g thread now It would be difficult to find the specific posts, and I don't want to put anyone on the spot.

    Yep, the moniker comes from BladeRunner. My earlier incarnation Nexus9 got retired, asi couldn't sign in after certain changes that were implemented a few years back. Plus ça change.....

    I certainly agree that we should be kept up to date on whats happening and what is being done to resolve issues. I think it's terrible that so many people are still experiencing problems so many weeks after the so called upgrade. I know we've had xmas and new year and NAS staff have as much right to holidays as everyone else, but now the holidays are over and everyone should be back at work, can we not have at least an update?

    I don't want to put a downer on your ideas, but I'm not sure they can be done.

    How would we all sign a letter of complaint?

    Who will set up and run this member created forum? Will they be paid or voluntary?

    I'm qualified to teach English, but I certainly can't help set up a community forum - I don't have the technical skills. And members who are web designers might not have the time or the inclination.

    Plus, NAS will have entered into a contract with the company providing their IT support & spam filter, and won't just be able to cancel it.

    I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think it's practical I'm afraid.

    Would it be worth getting together to formulate a letter to of complaint to send NAS that could be signed collectively by as many members here as possible?

    And then offer to set up a forum that has been designed by form members, to be used by forum members?

    I reckon the job can be done on all fronts. We have English teachers, and Web designers on board.
