List of what is currently wrong with the forum

I was wondering if most people who contribute here are fine with no current problems, so I thought a list might be useful.

I'm rather despairing at the moment of its brokenness and absence of communication from NAS about a timescale (or anything) for sorting these.

It's making me wonder whether to bother any longer.

1. I know that   has a message coming up in orange at the top saying his account may/will be deleted.

2. I keep being logged out (orange banner at the top with a seconds countdown).

Is anyone else getting anything still (or even unable to use their original account?).

Has anything been sorted?

Thanks.

  • I've just found this page on the NAS site.

I'm unsure whether to send an email as I don't want them to decide that it's just not worth trying to run the forum + therefore shutting it down.

I note that Amerantin is unable to post again.

  • I liked this forum for most of my time here. It was very carefully and intelligentely run.

I sensed some sort of large change a while back, which happens to many things that I initially find good, and in this case I seemed to recognise the nature of the change, and it is I believe a change from management that can to management that can't. I think they have tried to replace people making what are essentially moral decisions with an machine programmed to make the same decisions.

Caelus (who seems to have departed, if any one is on contact with him do let us knwo if he is still fighting with his management at work...) turned out to be a bit clever when it comes to A.I. and showed me that we trust it at our own risk...

The way thsi site is curenlty and has been for a while actively has been discrimiinatng against me, some of which I accept as neccesary and each time the result is a disruption in my abilty to participate.

Every holiday it happens to me, and my paranoid side claims it's malicious actors behidn some of it, perhaps who have discovered that if they complain about an innocuous post I then get silenced over a whole holiday when the mods are off.

It really did look a bit like that was happening at one point, to me a at one other poster.

Now it's happeing to more of you, you have my sympathy. It's bloody annoying!

  • It's bloody annoying!

    It is indeed.

I'm presently only really posting on a couple of threads because I will be chucked out if I post too much.

I don't know whether to write to the address I posted above because of my experience with the Shutterstock forum.

There was a person moderating there and I don't think they used a spam filter or if they did it was the opposite of ours ie under efficient.

We started to get masses of spam from China and in the end they just shut the forum down.

Is a broken forum better than none?

    That is the question ...

    Anyway, Happy New Year.

I hope it's a good one for you and yours.
