Hello everyone
I've just joined. Hoping to feel less alone with this mindset.
Struggling with work - totally misunderstood.
No diagnosed but on the referral list for past 19 months.
Struggle with noise, people working to 'their' timelines and deadlines.
Had interview for new job today - my masking was amazing and they offered me the job, but it would be office based (I currently work in the community and at home), in small office with other people. My heart doesn't want the role, but I want to leave this job.
Had hundreds of jobs in my life. 5 in the last 3 years. I'm really good at getting jobs and have lots of skills and qualifications, but I struggle with boredom and working with incompetent people.
Anyway, hello.
Hi Marie and welcome to the community!
Have you considered asking for reasonable adjustments in either your current or prospective new role?
As you may know, employers are obliged by law to provide reasonable adjustments to those employees who need them, but this only applies once they have been aware of your autism, disability or other issue.
