Sound Isolation

I have Loop Earplugs, and they work good, but I find all earplugs pretty uncomfortable for long term use, and decent active noise cancelling headphones aren't really an option financially. I'm considering ear defenders, but if possible I'd like some that aren't as bulky and come in colours other than safety yellow or plain black. Does anyone have any experience in this area?

  • There is a brand called howard leight which does more colours, a slimmer design than most and active noise control - I think they are mostly used for shooting / hunting scenarios but may be closer to what you are looking for.

  • Yeah that definitely isn't what I want as I already have narrow ear canals. I'm pretty sure I'll be using ear defenders going forward

  • I've actually been wondering about the Vanderfields ones after seeing them advertised. It sounds like they're worth trying. Thank you

  • We have vanderfields ones which are great and come in lots of colours!

  • ear plugs are good for one day... or one night, any longer and they do make your inner ear sensitive and uncomfortable and they cause a ear wax squash layer in your ear. so yeah its not very good the ear plugs for a longer time than a day or night continuous.
