I’ve been sitting in my dentist’s waiting room for almost 40 minutes waiting on an appointment that was scheduled for over half an hour ago.

The receptionist won’t give me an update. They know I’m autistic.

This is just another example of clueless behaviour we have to put up with and it’s stressing me out.

  • Waiting like that can be really tough, especially when you're already on edge. I had a similar experience at my dentist a while back. I waited forever, and when I finally got in, they acted like they didn’t even notice I’d been there so long. It’s like they forget how stressful it can be for some of us.I totally get how stressful that can be, especially with autism. It would be nice if they were more considerate about those things. I try to remind myself that I’m doing my best to take care of myself.
