Steve Wright's last words and song - Sunday 11th February 2024

This is the beautiful last song that Steve played on his Sunday Love Songs on Sunday 11th February 2024.

His last words to his fans was "Ta-ra now"

He was on top form in the whole show. so his sudden passing was shocking.

Here is the song.

Please feel free to share your fav song you have heard on any of his shows, and share your memories.

I have a feeling he was autistic like us.

  • Listened too, she was very upset, she did a good job. Garry Davies was all chocked up at the start of yesterdays Pick of the Pops. Wished they had left Steve in his Afternoon show they should never have axed it, because it helped him too as well as us. He had had personal loss, and it was not nice of the management to do that to him

  • Listened to the Sunday Love songs Remembering Steve Wright show this morning.
Liza Tarbuck did a great job presenting - you could hear how difficult it was for her.

Choice of songs was great (as always with the show).

A few more tears shed this morning Cry

  • Those shows still available on I player BBC Sounds

  • listened to the Sunday show with my boyfriend yesterday I was in tears.

Today been listening to his BBC sounds shows before they vanish.

    hope ur okay

  • Listening to Sunday's pre-Valentine's show on BBC sounds.
    A few tears being shed.

  • Something so moving about that understated 'ta-ra now'.

Makes me think of these lines:

    And all the time...
he thinks about his journey nearly done.
One day he’ll clock on and never clock off
or clock off and never clock on.

  • Wow - haven't heard that song for years.
The guy singing is Terence Trent d'Arby

Unfortunately didn't listen to Steve's show last weekend.
