What board games do you like?

Hi every Wednesdays I go to a club called social gamers and we spend a good 4 hours playing different card or board games it’s great fun have a few drinks meet different people some are even on the spectrum. I would like to know what board games everyone likes I enjoy cards against humanity it’s great fun I also enjoy playing wear wolf which is a guessing game where you have to guess who is tbd wear wolf and who has been helping them cause fear in the village. Over to you guys what’s your favourite board game.

  • I really like playing Catan and Carcassonne. They mix strategy and fun perfectly. Ticket to Ride is another favorite since it's easy to learn and great for groups. If you want to share your game experiences or get more people into board games, check out https://www.rileyjamescopy.com/board-game-marketing. They have useful tips on board game marketing and copywriting.

  • Used to play Monopoly a lot, but it has bin (sic) banned in our house for probably 15 years or so....
Everyone was ganging up on me, I got so p***ed off that I took my frustration on the kitchen bin which received a hefty kick.

    Some others that I like

    • The Really Nasty Horse Racing Game
    • The London Game (based on navigating the London Underground)
    • Sequence (simple, but fun card & board based game)
    • Crimes Against Humanity is a great laugh

The all time best game has to be RISK

  • There are some good solo and cooperative games which removes having to compete with people?

  • I do quite like D&D, which is less directly competitive, and death is seldom fatal. Slight smile

  • Meadow and Everdell favourites. Hive and Radlands too.

  • I think I have exactly the opposite. It's nice to win and I do try (what would be the point of doing otherwise?) but when I don't even get the bronze, well... to quote Bullseye, 'it's been a lovely day out'

  • Hard to beat Trivial Pursuit for that perfect balance of quizzing and intuitively understandable layout. No protracted learning of rules, but your brain still gets a workout. And everyone has their own 'kryptonite' category - in my case Sport (yuck).

  • Not so much board games, but I am getting more into tabletop gaming. :-)

D&D, Vampire: The Masquerade, and The Witcher RPG have been some of my favourites.

  • I realised many years ago that I am a really poor loser. The distress and anger - possibly a form of meltdown - I feel in losing a game is so great that I no longer play board or card games. The elation of winning does not balance this for me.

  • What's your favourite version of Monopoly? I love how many different ones you can have..I collect them.

  • Your job sounds like a lot of fun!

I like Monopoly I own a lot of different editions. The first I ever got was the SpongeBob SquarePants version. My favourite I own is the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror edition.

  • I play board games pretty often in my job, not bad! Slight smile

As a child, I.both loved and hated Monopoly - that hasn't changed! We had a game about dinosaurs, but I don't remember what it was called now. Cluedo, I liked that. Still out there, it's immortal Sunglasses

  • "nuclear War" every time!

Real bonding type family game. Getting hard to get cheaply nowadays.

"Got change for 10 million people?"

  • Do you have a local board game cafe near you. I’m from Swansea and we have 2 social dice is better tho they have a group on Wednesday evenings called social gamers and an autism group called spectrum gamers which is held on Friday afternoons before the cafe opens to public.

  • My all time favourite is Dobble I think! I wish there was a board game club near me...

  • I have never liked board games. I struggle to understand them and get bored and distracted. I havent thought about this before.  Once held a barbecue, everyone was playing this huge jenga  i was finding other things to do. The autistic me i guess.

  • I love board games. Some I enjoy are Monopoly, Game of Life and also card games. I like playing Patience to relax. I used to spend hours playing Mastermind, the game where you worked out the colour code.

  • I'm not a huge board games fan. I find them a bit of a snooze fest and haven't played any for a long time. Having said that, as a child we had board games night every Saturday night which my mum did and this often involved playing Monopoly.

So I guess Monopoly is my favourite.
