Can anyone explain vaping to me?

I smoked for a couple of months once but gave it up because I'm hopeless at lighting cigarettes without them snuffing out. I bought a vape once and couldn't get it to work. So I went to another supermarket and asked the young person serving me if they knew how to set it up and if I bought it, could they do it. And they did. I opened it and they showed me how to use it. But I couldn't figure out how many times you're supposed to vape on it as compared to a cigarette. With a cigarette it burns out but the vape keeps going on, so how do I know the right amount to vape?

  • I think it may be common for us to get addicted to things than NTs, I smoked when I was younger and pretty much lit one every chance I got, 40 a day was easily done, more some days.i had to quit, hard stop, very difficult, wrecked a couple of years with anxiety and stress packing those up.

If I drink I hit that "ones too many but a thousands not enough" theme too , so I have to watch that carefully.

I fear vaping would be much worse, it's socially acceptable, easy to get a nicotine hit without making the effort to go stand out in the rain in a designated smoking area, once you find it.

Essentially they're a liquid that you're inhaling, it's not regulated properly so there could be anything in it, lungs don't like anything much except air.

I'd say avoid them, I can't see any benefits from starting using them, other than to maybe help get off cigarettes . it's a bit like deciding "you know what, I might become a heroin addict" , unless there's some benefit, which I can't see in vaping or heroin addiction.
