Just got back from a follow-up Diagnosis Appointment.Was given information on Applying for an Autistic alert card to carry on your Person in times of crises.Children are also eligible.The idea being that if you find yourself in a situation where you are overwhelmend etc you can show this card.It is recognised by the Emergency Services also.Just wondered if you have one,or if not here is the link to apply.www.autism-anglia.org.uk/apply-for-your-first-card

It returns for me all the time, but it’s strange how being mute in the autistic sense, and the word ‘mute’ have different meanings to me. Because having no thoughts to word, and not saying words, feels different to me..
But then again I feel like I’m in a corner on a weekly basis.. so there is that..
I have one in my wallet, alongside my organ donor card. I was selectively mute as a small child and I sometimes have the feeling that it might return if I were very stressed, though it hasn't since I was about seven. Following my diagnosis, having the card with me is a nice insurance policy, just in case.
I’m actually pretty intimidated by the use of cards that are valuable for ID/information reasons, so maybe I will get an autistic card so that I can use it for those occasions, I feel I little like I’m going to get mugged sometimes..

Actually Iain I had used a pip letter, but it wasn’t enough on its own due the nature of the rates, so it was only really a support for the report..

Well that’s not exactly true, the report itself was 24 pages long, it was the breakdown that was 12 pages..

So it’s a lot easier to agree on the nature and severity of a condition with a specialist in mental-health, that it is with a civil body, and it is always going to help the civil-body to make a correct decision, if the professional clearly confirms the facts in writing.
I had had a 12 page report written with my confirmation, which more-keenly defined as a result of the level of discussion I had with the diagnostician, as I was familiar with the her jargon..
A clear and concise breakdown by a professional is always going to assist an assessor with there consideration for various awards.

If you have a Meltdown or a break down this card is designed to inform others what difficulties you experience.It states you need space or support.
I managed to attain a travel pass and disabled railcard, so I wasn’t certain that I need to get one at that point, I haven’t really thought about it for informational reasons..
