Getting diagnosed as a (not that young) adult?

Hi, I'm getting an NHS assessment for ASC on Monday. I am nervous and not sure what the social protocol is. Do I need to prepare or just show up? I have social anxiety so this is also making me nervous. I'm 41 (could pass for 36 or 20 something according to colleagues), but obviously not a child or youth anymore.

  • Hello. I was diagnosed at 40, so it's a late slightly weird life affirming experience I know as well. It's been 18 months since and I'm still coming to terms with it, but I'm doing so quietly, on myThumbsupwn, with some family support. There is no need to feel like you need to do anything but process this for yourself, unless you want to. So take your time and, lean on us! We are always here for you Thumbsup

  • Thanks. It is good to know I'm not alone in this journey.
