I wanna hear what your 'safe' foods are or any unusual combinations that you enjoy. Or even just tell us what you're having for dinner tonight!
I go through major 'cycles' with food, so one or two things will be my favourite for the space of usually a few months, then it will change to something else for a few months.
At the moment my obsessions are tuna pate, which I usually have on toast and chicken pie which I douse in gravy :)
Excited to hear what everyone is into!
Warm milk and soft bread with cheese and orange juice as breakfastThen I lunch eat later afternoon only pasta or rice with vegetarian or salmonEvening buttermilk or a warm special thing that only is available in Sweden where I liveFood safe other thing are banana, watermelon, strawberries. Only snack I eat is chili nuts
Hello. Great discussion! I currently really like white baguette with butter, Areo chocolate mousse and chocolate chip brioche.
My safe food is breaded chicken, I love it! I like chicken in other forms too but I particularly like breaded/tempura as the taste is always predictable.
Weetabix tends to be my 'go to' when I'm hungry and cannot decide what else to eat, or just don't have the energy to 'cook'.
Yes! Not had that combination but that sounds interesting will have to try that, Cheerios and Weetabix mixed is nice
I bloody love cereal too, I reserve it for days when I have simply no energy left and/or can't fathom having to make up something to eat properly. My go to are rice crispies and crunchy nut cornflakes (often mixed together)
Mine is and always has been cereal, no idea why. Currently it’s Weetabix
Myself and my dog enjoy eating toast together..
My safe foods are soup and bread. They don't upset me like most other foods do, result of inflammatory bowel disease and anxiety.
My favourite thing to eat is strawberry jam and strawberries! They are my fave foods and I love them. But strawberries do have a negative effect now so I can't have them as much as I used to.
I like soft foods best. Ice Cream, mashed potato, soup, soft fruits - berries mainly. I like raspberries and eat them every day. I can cope with pasta, rices at a push, other potato things which aren't hard or crispy. I eat oats, I really like them. I rarely eat bread, the crusts put me off! Soup is probably my safest food, blended of course. I prefer to make it myself if I have the energy.
Until recently, my 'safe' foods tended to fall into the category of foods that are considered unhealthy. This was until a health check highlighted that my 'bad' LDL cholesterol was far too high and that I needed to implement some dietary changes. Currently, my 'safe' food is Tuna (in Sunflower Oil) sandwiches.
Yeah they are hell for your teeth but worth it lol xD
My fav haribo are tangfastics! Love them soooo much. Bad for your teeth though!
I have a sweet tooth :P I love all the sweet stuff. Chocolate, ice cream, Harribo, fruit pastels... Ooo so many and yet somehow I never put on any weight which is a good thing ha ha.
I have a problem with making safe lists because it always keeps getting smaller and then nothing is safe and I stop eating entirely. I'm doing therapy for it now so maybe in 10 weeks I will be a stronger person, and I hope you'll find more peace too.
Hi Tris - sorry to hear it causes you so much anxiety. I go through spells of restricting and binging and that brings about a lot of food anxiety for me too. I will develop a firm list of 'safe' things and only eat those for months. It is quite tiring now I think about it.
M&S no duck wrap sounds delicious!
I've no idea but I think you have to remove the green (or is it purple ones) otherwise it goes brown.
I have a lot of issues with anxiety and food so my scale goes all the way from Weetabix and Shreddies and bread at the safest end and then things get tougher as they get sweeter or richer or whatever. So cakes and puddings and stuff are so far from safe that I haven't been able to eat them for the last year and a half.
M&S do a no duck wrap that I really like. I'm kinda hoping to work towards being able to eat that again soon.
That sounds INCREDIBLE. Taste the rainbow! (is that their tag line or have I got mixed up??)
The last time I had skittles they had been dissolved in a bottle of vodka for a matter of weeks. Consumed neat under a starry sky in the Lake District.
Toast is my go to food. I also like bananas, they are a firm favourite for me.
