Arguments on the forum

Just bumping this up as it's pertinent at the moment.

I hope that newer members don't leave.

Ree left because of the arguments at this time and I still miss them.

If things get too much for me here I become a hedgehog now and hibernate.

I did leave once and considered it a few times before, including recently, but hibernation gives you time to think.

This is an exceptionally good place to be most of the time.

This time of year is worse on all forums. 

We don't like the change in weather or clocks changing

The pressure of upcoming festivities is looming

Half of us are probably in poverty and Don't know how to pay for Xmas

Kids have started new schools and parents are stressed

The government is encouraging bad behaviour (braverman) 

And we are all sensitive and react to things while dysregulated.

There is always the issue though isn't there, if folks are enjoying a thing they don't nessesarily want it to end just because they run out of source material to base it on. And then the problem arrives that the writers who were good at adapting a pre-existing story aren't nessesarily good at writing their own from scratch and keeping it neatly within another IP universe.

I love that I’ve come into this ThRead expecting to see lots of whining about people being argumentative and enjoying good healthy debate. Instead we are discussing Anime. Incidentally the issue with those particular types of anime is that they are based on a long-running manga series. And when the anime catches up to the manga instead of stopping for more manga to be released they just start making up rubbish. That’s why the quality drops.

yeah, i think making it perfect at first is because its a new thing so they have to capture the audience with the first season.... then when the first season has made the fanbase they can get lazy and churn anything out.

Maybe, but then if you know what the kids are like now they are the instant gratification generation lol, never want to have to wait for the good stuff or have to grind a bit in a game to get the good gear. Perhaps the production companies do that nowadays because they think their new main target audience won't stick around for the payoff if they have to wait too many episodes for it.

like most anime, i believe the starting is the strongest and most balanced point.

so the siayan saga and the namek frieza one. i think they are strongest as they have a better scope of progression and shows goku trained all the time and struggled hard to get stronger.

the newer ones like dragon ball super, i dunno, the power goes up too rapidly and they just get given it all on a silver plate effortlessly now.

anime has this issue in all anime though, the starters are always good then it goes down hill and falls apart through each new season.

I remember when I discovered that Z was actually not the first series, I think I've retroactively watched quite a lot. But the Freiza saga was the big main one when I watched it on telly the first go around.
Did you have a fave series or saga of the show?

yeah i remember all the games too. i never watched it at first though as i didnt have any special tv, i was always limited to bare basic tv..

my parents always behind on tech. so most of childhood all i had as channel selection was 1 to 4... then channel 5 got released, i remember i think we stayed up to watch channel 5 be released lol

ah i remember when that first came out. and something called monster rancher too. digimon... they all seemed to come off the back of pokemon. without pokemon none of these things would have came out in the west i think.

Ah yes I myself am AuDHD with OCD, CPTSD, and PDA, it's a tough life. But I find it helps to read a thing then go away and consider it over a cup of tea before I start typing a response if I feel especially prickly about it. And if it wasn't all that big of a deal to still be thinking on it after-all when the mug is empty the ADHD has usually moved me onto something else instead and saved me the bother of reacting in my experience lol. At least I can think what I'd like to type and phrase when I'm having the cup of tea so that helps either way.

I'm one of the miserable gits, I'm just acutely aware of how my behaviour impacts others. My last psych said I was far more aware than most people she'd seen. That's a mixed blessing I can tell you! I know I'm being annoying/difficult but can't seem to stop the impulsive dysregulated reactions. I guess that's the joys of my PDA/ADHD/cptsd screwed brain. 

Those of us in pain also hurt more when it gets cold and going out gets harder so we mix less and are stuck with our own thoughts more. Personally I never find being alone with my thoughts a good thing for my mood.

I think you are onto something there, winter on the forums is a lot like a friday night on a full moon for A & E.
Seasonal Affective Disorder ( or whatever it's called ) runs riot with folks moods this time of year even if they haven't got other stresses too.
I joined in the last winter and took the negative-fest as par for the course but then I noticed folks got on with a lot more productive - and friendlier chats in the summer. Seems like it's a cycle.
Doesn't seem to help that a lot of folk here don't seem to enjoy xmas or have much irl company (I'm odd that way as I enjoy both) so it seems they haven't got anything especially to look forward to just being cold and lonely, can easily imagine that has a negative effect on their mental health and then they only have here and a few other places online to offload the foul mood.
We're really not all THAT miserable a bunch of gits. Just seems like a portion of us just turn that way, but they'll be back to normal next summer.

i feel that yugioh was made to get around internet arguments.
if anyone has any issues they just challenge them to a game of duel monsters!

i still think yugi cheats, his pyramid thing is like a performance enhancing drug that kinda acts the same way as taking steroids and growth hormones lol
