What do you do to cheer yourself up

What types of things do you do to cheer yourself up?

Parents
  • Make myself tea the long way - with loose tea leaves, my favourite teapot, steep for the exact correct amount of time for that particular tea, pour through a strainer into my favourite cup, adding anything extra that's necessary and drinking whilst still hot, not getting distracted by other things. The process and routine soothes me and works as a mindfulness activities to keep me focused in the present, rather than getting lost in my head. It's a little thing that just cheers me up and makes me smile.

  • That sounds lovely

  • I have different teas for different moods so I can properly tailor it to how I'm feeling.

  • A Japanese tea called Genmaicha, it's green tea leaves with roasted brown rice. It gives it a light nutty taste which is a bit different to everything else.
