I think autistic people are the most honest people on this planet. We communicate in such an honest an straightforward way, but that in itself can cause problems for us.
However this honesty is not always believed by society. Maybe it's the lack of eye contact or the body language. Whatever it is I've lost count of the number of times I've been disbelieved by others when I've been telling the truth.
I do not have a good ability to detect lies unfortunately and have suffered for this many times. It has led me to become very distrustful of others, in particular 'services' such as mental health and social services
