Terrified of wearing glasses

Hey, Hello, my name is noon. I'm 26 now.. I despise glasses. But now, after four years of being alone, I've enrolled in an institute. I knew quite a few people. I shaped them in my head and recognized them by their tones and colors, but I had never seen them. Now my right eye is a - 6 and my left eye is a - 4; I'll be wearing my glasses in 7 days and I'm terrified of seeing all the details. I'm afraid of having a panic attack after seeing details . How can I relax?

  • You can take them off if you need a break.

  • I can understand that. I feel anxious with glasses. I don't like how they leave marks on my nose lol.

I can understand your anxiety but try to focus on the good things. Look at all the things you'll be able to see, the things you like and enjoy :) don't let the anxiety spoil it to you. It might feel different with them at first but, you'll get used to it and you'll be far happier in the long run I bet.

  • I was also terrified of first wearing glasses.  I was around 12 and at school, I couldn't see the writing on the blackboard.  I was referred to an optician for eye tests and glasses.

The big problem was my abusive father who openly mocked glass wearers as four eyed idiots. I was terrified of his reaction.

    His reaction!  .....

He saw me with glasses and decided to get his own eyes tested and he also got glasses.

The moral is don't worry, the future is unpredictable.
