Conformist or none conformist?

I consider myself to be a none conformist & have been so all of my life.

Although a none conformist has to conform at times within life. 

I seem to be mellowing a little on this subject, as I'm getting older.

  • Non-conformist definitely. According to both dictionary definitions, the other being "any English Protestant who does not conform to the doctrines or practices of the established Church of England"! 

    I have always been pretty immune to peer pressure. Although somewhat less immune when the peer group in question is not just the other kids in school or whatever but actually of people I genuinely respect and like and do perceive as my peers. I can be persuaded to do something I kind of want to do but have reservations about, but not something I have zero desire to do.

    As for authority and following other people's rules, only if they make sense. If they don't make sense but don't cause a problem I can go along with them. But if they don't make sense and cause a problem to me or others then I will try to reasonably change the situation and if that fails then it has the potential to get messy as I can be stubborn.
