Disclosing to employer

Hi there

I'm wondering what people's experiences are of disclosing their autism to their employer. Please share good and bad if you feel able. Will help me work out my thoughts on it.

  • I've only had one job before and it was when I was 18 and it was ok but after I disclosed my ASD I was treated differently but not good different. People made fun of me as well. I guess it depends on the place you work at. I was at Lidls and I don't think it was a good move doing it there.

    That sounds horrible. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I have not told any of my colleagues at my current work and I don't think I will at least not any time soon. I have so far only told the head of my lab and I have asked him not to share with anyone... People can be so cruel. I'm really sorry they were so mean to you. It's sad.
