Just been diagnosed

I've just been diagnosed with autism.  They told me over the phone, but they're sending me reports in a couple of days.  I don't know what to say, I was half hoping they'd say not, but so many mh people have suggested I might be autistic that I had a private assessment (not eligible for NHS one).  How did you adjust to your diagnosis?

    Thanks!  I'm not sure about the diagnosis, it does fit better than previous diagnoses, but it also shuts some doors as far as therapy goes.  And I'm worried about peoples' assumptions. I will try to be kind to myself.
