I've just received my decision letter. I scored 0 points despite living with autism, spine problems, severe osteoarthritis, anxiety and inflammatory bowel disease. Autism mainly effects social interaction and emotions. I have no friends, can't socialise and only drive locally. I also wear a prescribed knee brace and am waiting for a consultation for joint replacement.

The assessor decided that because I can drive, do short period of online voluntary work and am a carer for my ASD son that I do not meet any criteria. Also mentioned anxiety can't be an issue because I don't take drugs for it. I self referred to local mental health trust for therapy but ended up making a formal complaint as they missed calls. I tried medication years ago and ended up with heart palpitations and mood swings.

I've asked for a mandatory consideration as decision letter didn't even mention autism or my disabilities. It had duplicated text and mistakes in it and said I didn't mention difficulties during assessment. I did and we talked about pain, panic attacks and mobility problems.

I'm prepared to ho to tribunal just yo bring an end to the constant paperwork and to finally get a definite answer.

  • yeah thats the thing with the jobcenter though, they really dont want anyone else claiming money as they dont have it and their job now is to bar people from any handout. they dont want to help their job is to save the gov money by preventing claims and kicking existing claims off.

    there was a person with legs blown off and because he got prosthetics and tried to help himself he lost his claim. any attempt to improve yourself will get you kicked off. which is funny because it shows medication for anxiety doesnt work and likely hinders and makes you worse which is why they want you on that for it to count. going off those drugs and avoiding them helps you and they dont want you helping or improving as it harms eligibility. so its kinda a indication that even the gov knows medications dont work and makes things worse.

    its funny because i had social anxiety so bad i never left the house for years and felt agoraphobic and would shake if i went out and other strangers were around me.... yet that wont count for this because i never took medication or even went to the gp as i dont really tell anyone anything or go to the gp for anything. so my anxiety that locked me away and had me shaking in others presence wouldnt have counted lol
