I'm looking to invest in some ear defenders or noise cancelling headphones as my tolerance for loud noises has really gone down lately.
Would I have to buy autism specialist ones or would the normal builders type ones from b and q work?

I've used Skullcandy Hesh Evo before, they are over the ear headphones and thus will negate quite a bit of sound without adding in the noise cancelling aspect.
I'd recommend going with something that is comfortable to wear and wont make you look out of place.
