Support at work?

I have found out today that I am on the waiting list for an assessment on the NHS. The wait is 18 months which is what it is but I feel like I need support at work before then. How can I go about approaching my employer without a diagnosis? Is it even a good idea to approach them without one?

I havn't an official diagnosis yet, but sense I'm autistic. I've arranged to meet my employer about it. I instinctively felt the need to tell them. I feel comforted by the fact employers are by law, have to support employees regarding their wellbeing so I'm hoping I receive a positive outcome from them.

Only advise I can give is trust your instincts whether to tell them or not. X
