Cohabiting

I've been married to a nuerotypical for 30+ years, love her to bits, wouldn't want to live in a house without her.  Not even for a bit.  But I'm not keen on other people staying; I don't want to stay in other people's houses; and I can't relax when other people are around. We've had a lot of work done in the house and I hated people coming in to do work (builders, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, blah, blah, blah.  And yeuch. Especially yeuch).  

Same as you PA, love my wife to bits and couldn’t imagine living without her.  However I do like it when she is out for a few hours and I am on my own, and I am always a little bit sad when she comes back and I am not alone anymore.  Such a contradiction and makes me feel quite bad at times

When we first got together, decades before I even suspected I was autistic, I told her I needed to just spend some time on my own and not to be offended.  But after a short while I actually gave up wanting that.  She sits quietly on her computer, reading, or using headphones, and I prefer her to be there.  No one else, though(!)

Just knowing she is there is enough and very comforting and that is exactly how I feel.
