Cohabiting

Just wondering how many Autistic people live with their other half's?

I have been in a relationship for a long time and we lived seperately until first lockdown 2020. He moved in with me for obvious reasons, sold his house and that's how it is now.

I do love him very much, but find sharing space 24/7 really hard. We've talked about him getting his own place again but he doesn't want to. He is very kind and understands my needs and really wants us to live together but it's very hard for me.

How do other people manage it?

  • I've been married to a nuerotypical for 30+ years, love her to bits, wouldn't want to live in a house without her.  Not even for a bit.  But I'm not keen on other people staying; I don't want to stay in other people's houses; and I can't relax when other people are around. We've had a lot of work done in the house and I hated people coming in to do work (builders, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, blah, blah, blah.  And yeuch. Especially yeuch).
