Anyone else find buying gifts demands almost too much social imagination in order to be accomplished satisfactorily?

Christmas presents can cause so much pressure and stress for people, all of which is unnecessary. My advice is to try to think about what interests or hobbies the people have (i.e. those who you need to buy gifts for). A good idea is to get them a gift voucher for their favourite shop. I know sometimes people look down on the idea of gift vouchers because they believe that you have not put in any thought or effort, but I disagree! A voucher means that they will definitely make use of the gift card and spend it in a shop they love, resulting the best product being purchased!
