Buying gifts for neurotypical people challenging?

Anyone else find buying gifts demands almost too much social imagination in order to be accomplished satisfactorily?

  • in my family we had rule nothing expensive, that helped me in choosing but the other side of the medal is getting to many socks LOL

some cheap unusual gadget from those stores with total random things you won't buy anywhere for few pounds is where i go now

like a mouse pad with attached to the bottom pouch filled with some small balls, probably magnetic, that stuck to you, so you could put it on your knee and use a mouse as if you had a flat surface, my brother in law loved it, and he is still using it, before he was trying to use a mouse without a pad on his knee often

but to find such a perfect fit is rare

so card with wishes plus a small value giftcard is more appreciated, adding you did not find pefect fit this year
