Vulnerable and Isolation withdrawing causing Vulnerability loop

This is quite difficult to talk about as I am myself just getting my head around this,

When I have an external factor pushing on my life or an uncertainty making life seem extreamely dangerous,, I feel vulnerable and with that vulnerability I close down with stress and anxiety, this isolates me away from contact with people and closes me down verbally talking about the vulnerability because I am vulnerable. So the isolation(protect method and non-communicative) makes me further vulnerable, so it is a catch 22, vulnerable, withdraw, isolated, more vulnerable... stress to stress loop.

Take any examples on this forum from fellow aspies,, the main theme is vulnerability and isolation also, I would even go as far to say that the system generates this position in society, benefits, housing, lack of care etc

Any thoughts ?

Do you feel vulnerable by society ?

Do you feel isolated ?

Does this isolation make you feel more vulnerable ?

    I don't think I feel vulnerable. Undecided

Zosie so you may unthink you feel vulnerable, vulnerable at a deeper level ? Feeling and thinking are not same thing.

  • true family or what John Lennon sang " all you need is love"

you can get all the pills in the world and cognitive therapy,, but it means nothing in real empathic terms.

Yup, all the pills and therapy in the world won't give anyone a support network.

And that, ultimately, is, in my opinion, all that we need.

  • I have no care centre in my life, never have had,, only recently I have realised you should have.

My parents and family are not there for me in emotional terms and you can get all the pills in the world and cognitive therapy,, but it means nothing in real empathic terms.

I may even stretch this point further and say I have a bad time in the womb, born pre-mature, underweight, jaundice, runt of the lidder, mother drank, smoked and worked in a noisy pickle factory whilst pregnant. Hallelujah WELCOME to a blackbile poison world.

The experts may say,, no no no,, it is genetic,, I say it is the early environment which delivers those genes.. womb to birth to early years, to support network which has a psychogenic effect and thus affect.

I spend my whole childhood getting put down, bullied with  no comfort, praise or love. I am sorry but my autism is caused by lack of personality development and loving environment  growing up. The french and some european countries, including south korea believe autism is psychogenic also.

And yet, though my childhood wasn't the best, it also wasn't the worst, I was loved, and supported by my parents. My Mum has never smoked, and if she did drink whilst pregnant (very unlikely) it was (almost certainly) in moderation.

The reason that the experts say it's not caused by those kinds of factors is most likely that it effects such a broad cross section of society from such a varied range of backgrounds and with such a wide variety of upbringings.

  • Meaning of comfort,, looked it up on the net,, COMFORT: paraphase, feeling not vulnerable and surrounded by familiar objects and activities.. there you go my world I try to create each day without success. Looking for COMFORT by familiarity activities and objects.

forget number 24 and in my case also 21

  • Scorpian,, I  think I know the answer it is so simple.....

We need comfort, just simple human comforting.

A Nursing type therapy, I know that sounds sad, but I have never had comforting or nursing(probably a type of human nurturing). I can understand,, doctors believing autism in the past was caused by parents, my mother and father are remote emotionally, I have always stood alone like an invisible orphan in my own world. Aspergers is probably just a type of orphan syndrome. And as the number of mothers which go to work, probably is pushing this condition to epidemic levels in the future, correlate in lack of *** feeding and early nursery and school starting age(I WAS 4 !) and watch this space.

I may even stretch this point further and say I have a bad time in the womb, born pre-mature, underweight, jaundice, runt of the lidder, mother drank, smoked and worked in a noisy pickle factory whilst pregnant. Hallelujah WELCOME to a blackbile poison world.

    Yes.

    Yes.

    And, yes.

Wish I knew what the answer to this problem was - I need my independence - apart from when I need to depend on someone - and all too often there then hasn't been anyone there to depend on.

  • Hope that is exactly what I am talking about ! So what is the solution ?

  • I feel very vulnerable. If I am in a panic, I can't talk to people about it - I close down. If I am in pain, I can't talk about it either.
