Asperger humour

I have known several people with Aspergers who have made me laugh, more so than 'neurotypical' people have ever done. My dad, who has Asperger traits (but no diagnosis), has a childish and coarse sense of humour, but I always find him funny. What do you think? Are people with Aspergers more likely to find other people with Aspergers funny? Is there an Autistic comedy genre that needs to be researched? Because it is certainly not true that we lack a sense of humour. Maybe we just struggle to understand 'neurotypical' humour - I am trying not to generalise, we are all different!

  • My sense of humour is the thing that gets me through life. I have a sick sense of humour which is always getting me into trouble. Thank God I have it cos frankly I find most people very dull and boring. & when I'm getting narked at by narky people I can just giggle and not give a damn. Smile
