Moderator Post

Dear Community Members,

We appreciate that not everyone has the same opinions or experiences, and it can be frustrating to see things that you don’t agree with being posted. We have noticed a lot of this happening across the Community recently, and we do understand that this can feel upsetting.
However, I would like to take the opportunity to remind everyone about rule 4 of our Community: Be nice to one another and enjoy chatting with others. We encourage conversation and respectful debate; please be aware that individuals may give opinions which are not shared by other members. Insulting posts or comments making personal jibes will not be tolerated.

Please be aware that disagreeing with a post is not against the rules and flagging posts as abusive solely because they disagree with your point of view is a misuse of this feature.
I would also like to remind you of our rule 6: This is a hate-free zone for autistic people, their families and friends, and professionals working in the field. We don not permit sexism, homophobia, racism, anti-Semitism, religious intolerance, transphobia, disability hate speech, hate speech, obscenities, or pornography to be posted or linked to here.
Any posts found to break the rules of the community can be deleted or locked or in some cases the user may be banned from the community. Please be assured that our moderators do see the posts that are made, and we are aware of situations where individuals have been upset at posts made by another person. Concerning posts are acted upon and although we may not always make our actions public for a number of reasons, we do take action where we have a duty of care to ensure our members are safe.

To read our rules in full, please find them here: https://community.autism.org.uk/p/rules

Thank you all for your contributions to our Community,

Kind regards,
Clare Mod
